Grasslands Golf & Country Club – Lakeland FL

Grasslands has quickly become one of the most prestigious and affluent communities in Central Florida. It is where the well-connected and the well-to-do choose to live.  The 10 neighborhoods in Grasslands offer a variety to fit any lifestyle. Today I’m sharing information about three of their newest and seven of their more established communities.

First, the newest developments: Heritage Lakes is where you will find estate home sites, while Laurel Glen offers one- or two-story villas overlooking water and preserve views. In the Sanctuary, you will find Tuscan estate styled villas with waterfront and golf views.

Beyond the 24-hour manned, gated entrance, you have convenient access to medical offices, Publix, Target Super Center, upscale shopping at Lakeside Village, and the bevy of shops and restaurants that Downtown Lakeland offers. For faster travel, you can jump on the Polk Parkway, which conveniently gets you to either Tampa or Orlando.

If you are looking for a neighborhood that is more established, Grasslands has seven of those. Shoal Creek offers one- or two-story patio homes with golf and lake views.  It was also the first area of Grasslands to be occupied.

Enclave is just that- different from the custom homes, it offers beautiful single- and two-story condos. The Prestwick neighborhood has gorgeous views of the clubhouse, lakes, and golf course. The houses in this area feature sprawling lawns and spacious housing, makes it a perfect option large families.

Muirfield Village presents the perfect townhouse for hard-working, young professionals.  The beautiful houses in Turnberry are inspired by Greek and Roman architecture and offer stunning views of the lakes and fairways. For easy access in and out of Grasslands, Fairway Lakes is just the place.

Located directly behind the 24-hour manned gate are beautifully designed custom homes.  The Bellerive neighborhood consists of one- or two-story villas on large lots with convenient access to club facilities. All of the communities – with the exception of Heritage Lakes – are maintenance-free.

The crown jewel of Grasslands is its 18-hole championship golf course that was ranked as one of the Top 50 clubs in the nation by Golf Digest Magazine. The course was restored in 2008 with Champion Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Greens with the original design being crafted by Jerry Pate and Bob Cupp. If golf is not your thing, no need to fret; they have an exceptional Swim & Tennis Club as well. The club offers a junior Olympic size swimming pool, a kids pool, five hydra clay tennis courts, and two hard tennis courts that can be lighted for night play. For the more family-oriented, there are countless activities and entertainment opportunities for the children.

Grasslands features three dining options within its gates. The main dining room offers a unique fine dining experience and overlooks the golf course. Attached to the main clubhouse is the Grille Room, which offers a more relaxed and casual dining experience. The Deckside Café is attached to the pool area and is perfect for family gatherings. If you choose to hit the links, drink and dinner options are offered in the Men’s Locker Room. The Turn Stand is a small café that offers breakfast and lunch fare between nines.

Grasslands is also an excellent place to hold events.  The main dining room can be transformed to host weddings, rehearsal dinners, parties, lunch events, group dinners or anniversaries. The dining room can accommodate up to 100 people. The Kibler Room located in the main clubhouse can be used for small conference meetings of up to 14  people.
