Lakeland FL Lake Mirror Classic Automobile Festival – October 18-20, 2013
Lakeland is the place to be not only for car enthusiasts, but for folks of all ages. Can you believe it, the annual Lake Mirror Classic Automobile Festival is in it’s 14th year and it seems to me that this event is growing each year. A must see event that we as a family rarely miss.
This great free event to the public is made possible of the great support of corporate sponsors as well as the countless volunteers that help make this a great experience. Over $250,000 has been raised or donated which has helped local organizations such as the Junior Achievement, Lakeland Community Theater, Historic Lakeland, Boy Scouts, Lakeland Regional Cancer Center and many more. This year their mission is to help fund the preservation and restoration of historic Lake Mirror Promenade, also known as the Frances Langford Promenade.
What can you expect to see at Lake Mirror Classic Automobile Festival?
What a way to start your weekend off with a party on Friday evening filled with a free outdoor concert held at the Lake Mirror Amphitheater. Rock & roll music, food, drinks and crazy looking cars. Are you ready for some noise? As the band takes a break all the hot rods crank up their engines for a Hot Rod Rendezvous and making noise or music of their own.
There will also be New Car Unveiling for the 2014 new model vehicles presented by Lakeland area car dealers from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Lake Mirror Park East Promenade.
Ready for the open car show!
Hundreds of classic and collectible are staged in groups of similar makes and models downtown in a 16-block area. Over 500 cars, such as Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Model As, Corvettes and many more are to see. There is also a special area set aside for prospective buyers to view and perhaps purchase the car of your dreams. Don’t forget to stop by at the Lake Mirror Park and view vintage wooden boats, classic motorcycles and amphicars that take it to the water.
