1. Annual Holiday Walkabout – Dec. 3, 2013 (Tue), 6PM-9PM, Downtown Lakeland

Celebrate holidays in Lakeland with dining, shopping, music, horse-drawn wagon rides, and many more! Area schools and churches provide holiday music to create a festive atmosphere. Find the perfect gift by shopping in Downtown Lakeland from 6PM to 9PM. Parking will be free in the main street garage. Entrance to the public parking is on Cedar Street. The Bay Street entrance will also be open and can be accessed through Tennessee Avenue.

2. 33rd Annual Christmas Parade – Dec. 5, 2013 (Thu), 7PM, Downtown Lakeland

Buyers of Lakeland Fl homes for sale will find this annual parade a spectacle to behold with fantastic fireworks display over Lake Mirror. The theme of this year’s fireworks display is 

“I’m Dreaming Of…” The parade will leave Lakeland Center and go down Lemon St all the way through Downtown Lakeland. 110 organizations will be participating in this event. Streets along the parade’s route will be closed by 5:30PM. Additional parking will be available after 5PM at the downtown parking garages and parking lots. Get your seats early and keep an eye for the Big Guy in the finale.

3. Snowfest – Dec. 7, 2013, (Sat), 10AM-2PM, Lake Mirror

The 33rd Annual Snowfest will feature the traditional snow mountain along with an exciting snow slide and a visit from Santa Claus. There will be food vendors, inflatables, and children’s entertainment available on that day. The admission for the snow mountain or the snow slide will be a canned food item or a donation of $1. Admission to the inflatables will also be $1. All donations will be given to the Polk county Senior Orphans Charity.

4. Santa’s Calling – Dec 10, 2013, 5:30PM-8:30PM, Forms must be submitted by December 9, Monday.

Santa and his long distance operators will be phoning local elementary school children from his workshop on Dec. 10 from 5:30PM to 8:30PM. To make sure that your child will get a call from Santa, complete and submit a Santa’s Calling form. You may get in online or submit it to any of the following:

  • Kelly Recreation Complex – 404 Imperial Blvd

  • Simpson Park – 1725 MLK Jr. Ave

  • City Hall located – 228 S Massachusetts Ave
